Lies Lies and Damn Lies

The White House recently denied that the President of the United States bowed to the King of Saudi Arabai.

Here is the denial from an article:

The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets.

"It wasn't a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he's taller than King Abdullah," said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The White House is lying through its collective teeth. If you watch the video and pause it, you will see that Obama DID NOT grasp Abdullah's hand with both hands. And there was no reason to bend over due to height. You will also note that Obama added a second hand to the shake AFTER he stood back upright. It was obviously a bow.

Watch the video for yourself here:

Obama, the President of the United States and leader of the free world, bows to a Saudi King who represents a despotic regime noted for its’ human rights violations, a birthplace of terrorists, a symbol of everything that is an antithesis to our system of government, and it’s no big deal?

I consider myself fortunate to have been born in a republic. I appreciate that as a citizen of a republic, I need not bow to any man or woman. We are all created equal, and blood lines do not make one person superior. This gesture by Obama should rankle every citizen for when Obama bowed as President of the United States, we all bowed.

He did bow, see the video from the latest angle:

Thanks for the follow up. I figure that

1. Obama received some bad advice from the State Dept, which implies incompetence, or

2. He believes in the superiority of other nations/leaders over ours.

I think both could be very well true and not at all exclusive.
