Yeah, That's the Ticket!

The clash of the titans is over, and the dust has settled.

Tom Brady versus Tim Tebow.

Could there really have been any other outcome?

Sports pundits say that anything can happen in the NFL. Upsets along the road to the Super Bowl aren't uncommon. Just look at the recently played games between San Francisco and New Orleans, New York and Green Bay.

Popular consensus had New Orleans and Green Bay winning their respective games.

They didn't.

There were even those who argued for a Denver win over New England. They tried to make the case that New England's defense is too porous, wouldn't be able to stop the run or Tebow's long distance throwing.

Given the sporadic quality of play by the Patriots' defense throughout the season, it was hard to disagree with that thinking.

However, on Saturday night, they became beasts and thwarted the Bronco's running game. They also prevented Tebow from throwing more than 150 yards by putting enormous pressure on him. There were four or five sacks of the haloed one (I don't say this sarcastically - I have a lot of respect for Tim Tebow's fearlessness in expressing his beliefs. I'm just trying to avoid the redundancy of saying his name too often.), not to mention many tackles of ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage for a ton of negative yardage.

I think that a lot of people wanted to believe that the Broncos had a mandate from God himself to win this season's crown as a way to prove that miraculous events still take place.

In the end, though, it became obvious that God isn't a football fan. Or at least a Denver Broncos' fan.

He teaches through losing as well as winning.

Tim Tebow was a great story this year. I don't think he was nearly the polarizing figure that many made him out to be. There's always a vocal minority that sounds larger than it really is.

He was David to the Goliath known as Tom Brady. And without divine intervention, Goliath will nearly always defeat David.

Besides, I think God is really a baseball fan.
